1.3.2. When should I receive a decision and can I appeal the decision?
Your request for international protection should be resolved within six months from the day Croatian authorities assumed responsibility for considering your request, that is, from the day you were handed over to the jurisdiction of Croatia. If a decision has not been made within six months, you will be informed of this in writing, and you can request a notification informing you when you can expect a decision and an explanation as to why it is not possible to make a decision within six months.
The longest time for making a decision is 21 months. At the end of the decision letter there is an instruction on the time limit within which you can file a complaint with the court.
The deadlines for filing a lawsuit are sometimes short, from five to 30 days. Therefore, act immediately and seek legal help.
