1.3.4. When can I get an asylum?

If you are in the country of your citizenship, or in the country of your usual residence, you can get an asylum in case you are a stateless person, have been persecuted or if you fear that in your country in case of return you could be persecuted because of your race, religion, nationality, belonging to a certain social group or political opinion, and your country cannot or does not want to provide you with protection. Your fear of persecution should be well-founded. Subjective fear of persecution is not sufficient to grant an asylum.
