1.3.5. When can I get subsidiary protection?

If you do not meet the conditions for asylum, the Ministry of the Interior will check during the same procedure whether you meet the conditions for subsidiary protection. You can get subsidiary protection:
• If you cannot return to your country due to the risk of the death penalty or execution, torture, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment; or
• If you are in serious and personal danger to your life as a civilian due to widespread violence in armed conflicts, and your country cannot or does not want to provide you with protection.
