2.3. When can I be transferred to another country based on the Dublin Procedure?

In certain cases, another country (member of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland) will be responsible for examining your application. This means that you can be transferred from Croatia to another country to have your application considered. These are the cases:

•  if you are an unaccompanied minor, and a member of your family, or brother, or sister legally resides in another country, provided that this is in your best interest;
• if you have a family member (e.g. husband, wife, child) who has already received or sought protection in another country, provided that both you and the family member express their desire for reunification in writing;
•  if you have a residence permit or visa issued in another country;
• if in the last 12 months you have illegally crossed the borders of another Dublin Procedure member state, by land, sea or air;
•  if you entered a country for which you did not need a visa.
Once it is determined which country is responsible for examining your application, you will be transferred to that country, and the authorities there will then examine your request.
