After the hygienic and health examination and the submission of an application for international protection are completed, you can stay at any address in Croatia at your own expense with the prior consent of the Ministry of the Interior.
In this case, you must attach a certified copy of the real estate rental contract or a certified statement from the property owner showing that (s)he is willing to rent her/his apartment to you and that (s)he will provide you with an appropriate standard of living. You can also attach a title of deed if you are the owner of the property you intend to stay in, or a hotel reservation if you are staying in a hotel.
Make sure that you have the possibility to receive official calls and letters from the Ministry of the Interior at your private address (write your first and last name on the doorbell and mailbox, and submit your personal information, Croatian mobile phone number or the phone number of the person who accepted you for housing and, if possible the e-mail address at which you can be contacted by the officials of the Reception Center) because otherwise the competent authorities will not be able to send you official invitations. In this case, the official may assume that you have left Croatia and suspend your procedure.
